It’s Time To Empower YourselfMindset

When you don’t empower yourself it causes grief and discontentment within your life.  It’s easy to look from the outside at someone else’s life and think they have a better job, nicer looking body, bigger house, or they’re engaging in more joy filled activities.

These thoughts only serve to destroy your personal esteem. When you compare yourself to others, it’s unfair to the person and to you. The only person that you should care about improving is yourself.

Personal Esteem Doesn’t Come From Comparisons

It’s like comparing apples and oranges when you compare yourself with someone else.  Every time you engage in this behavior, you minimize your personal esteem, leaving you open for disappointment. The only person you have to make happy is yourself. Many people live with the unconscious belief they need to make others in their life like them to be happy. Nothing could be further from the truth. This kind of thinking doesn’t help you grow into a spiritual being, let alone a successful person.

The media conditions us to want to look like others, to feel that by doing so we will be accepted. We want to look as good as the woman does in the black dress, or if you’re a guy, as muscular as the fella in the sweater.

This will not build confidence or help you grow as a person. Ask yourself are you comparing apples to oranges?self growth

Do you know their age, height, and weight? They could be younger than you are or have a higher metabolism.  Do you know their medical background?

We not only do this with our appearance, we also do this with our careers or businesses. Take the hair stylist that worries at night about the new girl in the salon being a better hair color artist. Or the accountant just promoted who’s already planning how to outdo the guy he thinks is going to outdo him.

Neither is the way to build confidence.

The big push to rise to the top is over with the 1990’s unfortunately the after affects still flood many people’s mindset and the workplace. It’s a self-esteem issue. When you don’t believe in your own self worth, no one else will and your mindset turns almost competitive or jealous in nature.success

When you change your how you think and believe in yourself success comes easier regardless of your goal.

Mindset Rules

Don’t get lost in the game of comparing yourself to others, it’s a waste of energy and never accomplishes anything.  The best thing to empower the mind and build your own confidence in anything is to focus on yourself and not to worry about anyone else.  Just think of what disgruntled neighbors tell each other, “Mind your own business”.

When you focus on yourself and being happy, you can accomplish more. Your life becomes effortless because your thoughts are centered on self-improvement. Not the self-improvement of bookstore shelves but the personal goals that bring you joy and enlightenment.

For some this will be going back to school for the MBA, or BA. It could be reading more books, or taking more walks. When you empower yourself you give ‘you’ permission to live your life without compromise.
