If you find yourself doing this and you know it’s a problem, take some time to study your problem area. That way, when you sit down to right you can feel confident that you aren’t going to make common writing mistakes.

2.       Know what your strong points are in writing. There may be things that you just aren’t as good at writing as other things. For example, I don’t do well writing about technology as it’s a little out of my realm of experience and not something that I am comfortable writing about. Since I am aware of that weakness I don’t typically take on jobs that require me to write about them. The same can be said for any writer. Know what your weaknesses are will help you become a faster, better writer.

3.       Know when you work the best. Some people work well in the morning, while others have a better time focusing later in the evening. Find what works best for you. I find that I have to divide my time equally between the morning and the evening so that I can accomplish everything that I need to get done in a timely manner. Knowing your work habits will help you become a faster writer as you will know when you work the best.
